Atlanta: One of the latest show-hurting trends offered by the networks has been to keep shows off the air for a year, or over a year. It never fails, whenever this happens to a show, it is always hurt significantly and most of the time ends up getting canceled (see The Shannara Chronicles, Secrets & Lies, the list goes on). Atlanta took over a year to return to your screens, and since returning it has fallen off the tracks a bit. Starting the season off strong, it has now fallen to a low of 0.26 A18-49, and is currently averaging a 0.33 in the magical demo, down about 24 percent y2y. However, it's not doing bad enough to get canceled yet, and it's a solid awards contender, so if it does not fall too much, you're more than likely be seeing more seasons of Donald Glover (I know a certain TVRG contributor will be enthused).

Falling Water: This is honestly one of the hardest shows out there to predict. It was never anywhere close to a hit, but received a renewal after its first season due to the Amazon Streaming Deal it had acquired. With the scary low ratings the freshman season earned, USA promptly scheduled the second season of the dream-drama on Saturday nights, which is just a flat out terrible slot. How often do you see shows scheduled there? Not often. So, in my expert opinion, that means USA could not have expected much out of it at all, and it would have to just not totally bomb (0.0s) to get canceled. Onto the numbers, season two averaged a low 0.09 rating, which is bad, there's no denying that, but for a Saturday show, is that really *that* terrible? That's the dilemma. To sum up, expectations were going to be very low (season one scored several 0.1 ratings already), it's likely a pretty cheap show, and it has that apparent amazing streaming deal. So what's the verdict? It could honestly go either way, but I'm going to push it over the edge and predict it as leans cancellation due to the likely awful numbers y2y decline will post next year (if there was going to be one).
