Nashville Season Six, Episode Seven - Can't Help But Wonder Where I'm Bound - Advanced Preview

After a great week off from covering Nashville, I'm back this week, and there's really not much new to say this week as for the most part, nothing is really happening anymore.

AVERY

Well, after missing an entire episode last week, Juliette was supposed to come back home and rejoin her family life. However, as the cult brainwashes her more and more, she ends up not coming home. We don't see this of course, but Avery finds out. He spends most of the episode trying to make contact with Juliette and trying to find out where she is or how to get in contact with her. The cult is  no help, so Avery is forced to go to Bolivia to speak to Juliette.

Finally, Juliette appears in the last scene of the episode, and let me just say this. The few viewers left will NOT be coming back after this week. The scene is arguably the worst thing MH has ever done. Juliette has a completely new personality, I don't even recognize her. Aside from this, the plot is plain infuriating. I'm sure you can predict and assume what happens, it's been done before (which makes it worse), but I am almost entirely sure that Javery is done for good after this episode. There also seems to be no saving Juliette, she's not the same person she was, she's not even recognizable (I don't even like background extra Juliette anymore), and this plot is far from being over and having us back to the actual singing Juliette.

I also don't see Juliette being in the show in the foreseeable future, especially with Hayden's tweet she posted last week.

THE BAND

Alannah has been getting interview offers left and right as she is apparently so amazing and just getting all the attention (even the guys are just fawning over how talented she is). She declines them and says she wants to stay a part of the band and that the reporters will have to talk to her with the band, so this is something we really see through the episode. It's truly nice to see a plot about the music business for a change.

ALANNAH

Gunnar and Alannah's relationship (if that's what we can call it) is still going on. Gunnar wants to get to know Alannah more, but she is really closed off and mysterious.

As mentioned before, everyone loves Alannah, and her impending solo career reaches new heights this week among her, the band, and someone...surprising.

WILL

Will's choices start to catch up to him for the impending obvious steroid blow that will come next week.

JESSIE, BRAD, JAKE, & DEACON

Ok, well, uhm, after watching a talent show scene from this week's episode, I am now at a loss for words. Basically, Jessie's son gives a rather frightening performance as a result of bottled up emotions from his home life. After this, the episode heavily revolves around some tension among the family brought about from Brad's arrival in town and the obvious uncomfortable position he puts everyone in. This week is basically a bad attempt at a family drama.

Oh, and it is clear as of this episode the last two weeks were closing the book on Rayna and Deyna and now the writers have moved on completely from any plots surrounding/remembering her as they take everything to the next level, unfortunately.

MADDIE AND JONAH

Maddie and Jonah's few fans should be just ecstatic about this week's episode. Maddie will be joining Jonah in Miami for a concert, where the two get their second duet. Outside of this, Maddie and Jonah's plot for the episode is basically just a romance movie where we are so lucky to get to heavily see the two's blossoming relationship.

A lot of the episode is a hangout show with lots of teen drama straight out of 90210 between Maddie and like five teens, and it's so good I see why they had to sideline the lead for it.

There's also a new love triangle between the teens this week and I am *so* interested in it.

DAPHNE

Daphne has started to want a solo-career and to actually make music for real, and this is hardly touched on this week, but it's a start and a definite foreshadow at the upcoming talent show plot.

Make sure to catch my detailed review this Thursday right after the episode airs where you'll see my full fleshed out thoughts on just how bad this week's episode is, and how the show might as well be a new show because as of this week, it is not even 0.01% recognizable as the addictive country music drama we all used to love.

What do you think will happen with the midseason finale looming next week? Will things get worse or better? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
